Salleri To Everest Base Camp Trek
We decided we wanted a different kind of Everest Base Camp Trek that didn’t involve flying into the Lukla airstrip.and the huge cost involved in doing so.
What better way to save money, get well acclimatised and trek where very few trekkers go than walk in from Salleri.

Jeep drive back to Kathmandu
You can see that this was a long trek but we took quite a few rest days as we weren’t on any time frame and could be as flexible as we liked.
The trail below Lukla is very muddy in places due to the donkey trains that use it all day long to carry supplies to the villages up higher.
The trail is also very quiet without the number of trekkers that the main trail gets.
This is still a less trekked route and feels quite remote in places.
We saw wildlife in the way of monkeys in the trees and lovely Magnolia and Rhododendron bushes in bloom.
Have you trekked from Salleri to Everest Base Camp?
We’d love to hear your experience.
